Moving Mountains and Skills Build

The value of informal, out of the classroom, education has long been recognised.  This is particularly true for learners who are disengaged and disaffected with traditional educational experiences.  We have developed a range of learning days that are designed to re-engage learners through a combination of outdoor and media based education.  A 2 or 3 day residential stay will give learners a chance to really achieve and to produce videos, web pages etc that they can be proud of.  At the same time they will be developing and (optional) accrediting their key skills

Typical Day

• Briefing and planning
• Visit to disused quarry/seashore/woodland etc?
• Collect photos, video, sound recordings

• Answer questions written/oral
• Return to multi-media centre
• Learn to use the technology
• Create web page - which will be published

We will provide the outdoor gear, the cameras, video recorders etc as well as the multi-media lab in the centre so you and your learners can get the most out of the experience.
